2005 Application Guidelines (Will be revised, and may change, for the 2006 Application Process):
For the 2005 fellowship year, Indicorps will accept applications from qualified persons of Indian origin who have a university degree or five years of applicable work experience and are citizens or permanent residents of the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada. (In coming years, we intend to accept applicants that are of Indian origin from other parts of the world and from India; if you are a person of Indian origin from a country other than those mentioned above, and you would like to work with Indicorps to build a presence in your country and/or would be willing to join the 2005 Indicorps fellowship program on a pilot basis, please email us.)
Indicorps applicants have the option of making a 2-year commitment; the second year would allow fellows to further develop their leadership capacity by taking responsibility for project oversight and managing Indicorps programs.

If you are not of Indian origin, if you do not qualify for the fellowship program, or if you do not think the Indicorps program is right for you, BUT are interested in volunteering in India, please contact us. Indicorps will accept supplemental application material; however, we cannot guarantee that it will be evaluated. Under no circumstances will materials be returned to applicants. Unless solicited by Indicorps at a later date, all materials must be submitted or postmarked by the application deadline (March 28, 2005). Applicants who need to mail items should utilize an airmail service that can be tracked for prompt delivery.

Indicorps may conduct multiple interviews, contact references, and request additional materials during the application process. In some cases, at the suggestion of the evaluation committee, Indicorps may ask a candidate to consider changing his/her project preferences (and file an additional project application, if not already submitted). Ultimately, applicants will only be evaluated for projects in which they overtly express interest. |
